Ouroboros are like snakes, but they get their energy by consuming themselves. As long as the Ouroboros head is over it's body, then it is able to maintain and grow it's energy up to a max energy, but it also shrinks by one segment every couple seconds as it consumes itself. The only way to stay alive is to eat fruit. Each fruit adds one segment and some bonus energy, but be careful when going after fruit because if the Ouroboros energy level drops to zero, it dies! Hitting a wall will also kill the Ouroboros as it's head is quite sensitive, so don't do that! How long can you survive?
